Confidential information disclosed in private therapy sessions is legally protected. However, there are some exceptions to this, such as:

• instances of suspected abuse of a vulnerable person such as a child or elderly person  

• when a person presents a serious risk of harm toward themselves or others.

• If my records are subpoenaed by a court of law
